Christos Filippidis is an architect (NTUA, 2004). He completed his postgraduate studies in 2007 (School of Architecture, NTUA) and received his PhD in 2016 (School of Architecture, NTUA). He has worked as a researcher at the University of Sussex (2012-14) and has conducted postdoctoral research at Loughborough University (2017-18), Durham University (as a Marie Curie Fellow, 2018- 19) and as an Independent Social Research Foundation Fellow at the Department of Architecture, University of Ioannina (2022-2023). He has also taught in the Interdepartmental Master's Program “Urban and Regional Planning” at the School of Architecture, NTUA (2019-20, 2020-21) and at the Department of Architecture, University of Ioannina (2021-2022). In recent years he has been conducting critical research on the securitization/militarization of cities, urban geopolitics and the security-development nexus.
