Avrokomi Zavitsanou is an Architect, a graduate of the University of Thessaly, and holds a degree from the Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art at the School of Applied Arts and Culture of the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She has completed postgraduate studies in Cultural Management (Panteion University) and holds a Ph.D. in Architecture (University of Thessaly), with an emphasis on the study and management of digital cultural/mnemonic space. She has been awarded scholarships for her postgraduate and doctoral studies by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (HFRI), and the Research, Innovation, and Excellence Structure of the University of Thessaly (DEKA).

She is a member of the research team of the Laboratory of Environmental Communication and Audiovisual Documentation (LECAD) at the University of Thessaly, with research interests focusing on the intersection of architecture, emerging technologies, and environmental management and communication. She has participated as a researcher and as a principal investigator in numerous research projects, including Escape Through Culture: Gamified Cultural Experiences (Research – Create – Innovate), Colour & Travel: Design and Development of Innovative Digital Travel Applications (Research – Create – Innovate), MUSEE: Understanding Museum Architecture for Digital Experiences (Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation, HFRI), Augmented Corporeal Experiences in the Hyper-Tectonic Environment of a Digital Platform (Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation, HFRI), and Representations and Interaction of the Greek Landscape in Video Games (Research Committee – University of Thessaly). Her research work has been extensively presented at scientific conferences and published in academic journals. At the same time, she is professionally engaged in architectural research and practice, cultural applications design, and editorial curation, as a co-founder of Colour Greece Creative Studio.
